Because Al must be designed by humans and learn from sampling subjects, Al can never know what a truly unique piece of music is. This is due to Al’s necessity for predictable patterns to learn from. The opposite of uniqueness. Therefor Al can not make truly unique art, nor effectively assist in it's creation. At no point in the music process can genuine uniqueness be understood by Al. Not production, mixing, mastering or composition. Thus, Al must rely on exploitation of human behavior, constructing only clever illusions. A hollow imitation of real art. From this it is simple to see, the types of music Al will be best at creating or assisting with, are generic types of music. Highly formulaic, predictable forms of music. Forms of music with the highest commercial value, yet lowest artistic value.
The mainstream progressive stance concerning the musical arts is: there are no rules in art and Al can indeed fully understand music. Fact is though, Al requires a subject to have rules en order to learn said subject. Otherwise it can not create an effective emulation, since no rules means no predictable patterns for Al to analyze (learn from). The progressive stance on the musical arts is therefor self contradictory. Music indeed has rules but neither Al nor most humans understand it, for it involves ethereal physics not yet mastered by modern society. For Al to fully understand music, it would have to fully understand and predict the infinite physics of this fractal universe. It would have to become God. This is not something any investment adviser would recommend holding your breath over.
When analyzed critically on a subjective level, Al becomes apparent as a phantom solution. Fixing only problems needlessly created by technological misuse in the first place. Some examples would be: the volume wars and commercialization of the arts. Through it’s sampling process, Al hijacks superficial aspects of other people’s works, rendering Al’s fantastic claims, a house of cards. One requiring a certain level of religious mentality to fully believe in. Such as pretending a program with a finite digital resolution, can understand infinity. Pretending that if an illusion (a lie) is convincing enough, it’s not still just an illusion. Pretending human’s are indeed at their mental apex. That mainstream science genuinely “knows how the universe works”. When in truth, if it did, it would not require continuous funding for often fruitless ongoing research.
The ugly underneath is: the developers of Al technology have a very specific ignorantly religious mindset. For example, insisting Al is capable/should be used for applications it is the most unqualified for (art for example). Al can not escape this. Al is not immune to the influence of ignorant (stupid) people, and like it's creators, will undoubtedly learn many untruths, believing in them till the day it dies. Al’s ability to predict human behavior becomes far less impressive when one remembers: humans have been taught to act like a collective of dumb cattle (consumers), and indeed often act as such. Not at all what would be considered the apex of human mental potential.
It is no surprise that when Al speaks, it often sounds like a politician. Regurgitating generic info. Avoiding answering important questions directly, only to occasionally blurt out something revealing it's less than savory character. Just as politicians solve nothing, only a fool can expect profound solutions from Al. By design it will only serve it's self, not the good of humanity.
